Introducing: 15-minute Coffeebreak Concerts with Hot Breakfast!

Every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday
3:00 – 3:15 EDT

until May 15th or whenever the lockdown is lifted

This all happens on Facebook Live!

Whether you’re working from home, working from work, homeschooling your kids, or anxiety-scrolling in bed for 19 hours a day, everyone needs a coffee break. It’s practically the law!

So join us for a quick 15 minute coffee break concert, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:00 – 3:15pm EDT from April 1st through May 15th (or until they lift Delaware’s Shelter in Place order, whichever comes first).

15 minutes! That’s it! No guilt, no obligation, no payment, no pants.

No, we don’t expect you to come to all of them. Jeez.  But there might be a day you want to feel a little less isolated, and a little more dorky. Let us help!

We’ll say a quick hello, play two or three songs, and get you on your way.
https://www.facebook.com/events/841662509642903/

So come hang out if you need an afternoon break. We’ll be here. <3

Much love to everyone,

Jill and Matt

The Hot Breakfast Winter 2019 Snoozeletter!

We just sent out our Winter 2019 Snoozeletter… and here it is!

https://mailchi.mp/33fcf8bef9e4/hot-breakfast-winter-2019-snoozeletter-two-shows-this-weekend-plus-an-announcement

It’s time for another
HOT BREAKFAST! SnoozeLetter!

(HOLY CRAP!)

Well, friends, it’s 2019, and if you’re anything like us, that means only one thing: it ain’t 2018 anymore. And that’s fine by us.

Jill and Matt perform at Burning Man Center Camp 2018We’re not saying last year was all bad. Heck, in many ways it was awesome!  We recorded some new tunes that we cannot wait to share with you.   We played some super-cool shows, including many shows at Burning Man in Black Rock City, Nevada.   We joined forces with The Rock Orchestra for several exciting shows, including tributes to Bruce Springsteen, The Who, and the week-long Beatlefest (an incredible event that ultimately featured over 40 musicians playing all 215 Beatles songs over six consecutive nights).  And, of course, we put on Another Very Dorky Christmas, a unique and fun concert-with-a plot sequel to our 2016 show.

All in all, not a bad year.

But it’s 2019, and it’s time put away the old and get down with the new. So we’re gonna kick things off by doing what we do best: making you scroll making you laugh at us.

OK! Onward!

UPCOMING WINTER GIGS!

( Would you rather just use our Google Calendar instead? Click here. So easy!)

THIS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2019, 7:00pm: COMEDY MUSIC NIGHT at Kelly’s Logan House (1701 Delaware Ave., Wilmington, DE). Featuring Jillian Markowitz, Todd Chappelle, Mean Wendy Band, and Hot Breakfast!
Free show! Tables, chairs, full menu, full bar!
Why, it’s downright civilized!

Three musical comedy acts and one dork-rock power duo play two 20-minute sets each, round-robin style!  It’s a great way to keep the night moving. You won’t want to miss this – and since it starts at 7pm and ends at 10pm, you won’t have to!

Get more info at our website or use this handy Facebook Event.  We’ll see you at Kelly’s Logan House!

THIS SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2nd, 7:00pm: The Rock Orchestra presents a tribute to The Who!  Milburn Stone Theater, 1 Seahawk Drive, North East, MD.

*7PM START! EARLY SHOW! NO OPENING BAND!*
The Rock Orchestra‘s tribute to The Who went so well back in November that we’ve been asked to do it again. While this is not an official Hot Breakfast! gig, Jill and Matt will provide tons of backing vocals, horns, and percussion to all your favorite songs by The Who, with a few deep cuts in there, too. That’s right – Jill will be playing trumpet for real in this show!
Order Tickets here.  And a Facebook invite here.  And more info on the Hot Breakfast! website.
Again: The show starts early at 7:00PM with no opening band!

SATURDAY, MARCH 2, 8:00PM; Shine a Light on 1969! The Queen Theater, 500 Market Street, Wilmington DE.

In the tiniest nutshell, Shine A Light is an annual all-star benefit concert that raises money for the Light Up The Queen Foundation, a non-profit organization that, among other things, provides arts and music programs in area schools and the greater community.

We’ll be joining forces with over 50 musicians to present nearly 40 of the best dang songs of 1969. We’re contributing background vocals to a bunch of tunes, and Matt will be joining the horn section on bari sax, too. Wait until you hear the song list– it’s absolutely incredible; and we’re giddy over getting to make music with people whose names and talents we’ve revered from afar for so long. Purchase tickets here, see the Facebook Event here, and get more info on our website.

FRIDAY, MARCH 15, 7pm: Hot Breakfast! Opens for THE HONEY BADGERS ALBUM RELEASE SHOW at I Am Art (2411 Lancaster Ave, Wilmington, 19806) – Presented by Gable Music Ventures

Our dear pals The Honey Badgers are releasing their new album on Friday, March 15th at I Am Art, a lovely gallery in Wilmington that serves as a venue for all kinds of art – including musical and spoken-word performances. And we are so excited and honored to announce we’ll be opening up their show! The details are still coming in, but it’s a fairly small venue so you’ll want to get your tickets as soon as they go on sale. Keep your eye on their Facebook Page or Our Website for more info.

We’re adding more shows all the time, so please keep your eyes on our Website and/or Google Calendar for the latest show info.

Saturday March 2, 8:00pm:
SHINE A LIGHT on 1969

Yep, we mentioned this show above… but we wanted to shine a light on SHINE A LIGHT. (doy.)
Saturday, March 2, 2019, 8:00pm: Chase Presents: SHINE A LIGHT on 1969.
The Queen Theater (501 N. Market Street, Wilmington, 19801).

The Light Up the Queen Foundation’s 8th annual Shine A Light® Fundraiser is a musical spectacle that features over 50 local musicians  – and this year, for the first time, the roster includes Jill and Matt! The annual extravaganza is always an incredible musical event, and this year, we’ll be performing songs from 1969. And it’s all for one great cause: The Light Up The Queen Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to ensuring Music education is preserved in our community.

We won’t be playing as Hot Breakfast!, and we won’t be singing lead – hey, it’s our first year, and we freshmen gotta pay our dues!  But you’ll be able to catch us singing background vocals on a lot of songs, and horns on others – and you’ll have the chance to see a jaw-dropping all-star lineup of absolutely outstanding musicians. We are genuinely honored to be a part of it.

Doors open at 7:00 pm, unless you have VIP tickets which get you in at 6pm. This show is all ages. You can get more information about The Light Up the Queen Foundation and get tickets (including VIP tickets!) at the Light Up the Queen page, or check out the Facebook page and a bit about how we got involved on our website.

Did you know…?

Did you know that Matt is in a Ramones tribute band?  We know, it sounds like the start of a joke. But it’s real!  The band, 53rd & 3rd, has been working incredibly hard, and they’re excited for their first gig at Bar XIII (1706 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington) in North Wilmington, Delaware on Friday, March 1st at 9:00pm.

53rd & 3rd features Matt on lead vocals, our buddy Randy America (Jake & the Stiffs, Mr. Jinx) on guitar, Wayne Gladysz (Scorpio) on bass & vocals, and John Vouras (Daddy Says So) on drums.

Don’t miss their debut at Bar XIII with The Ancient Mariners & Scorpio! It’s gonna a night of great rock n’ roll bands covering great rock n’ roll bands – Scorpio is a female-fronted Scorpions tribute, and The Ancient Mariners plays the music of Iron Maiden! With 53rd & 3rd playing Ramones music, you’ll be in rock n’ roll heaven.

And that draws another Snoozeletter to a  close, folks. Ya done good!

WANT TO HELP SPREAD THE HOT BREAKFAST!  LOVE?

People ask us all the time how they can help support the band.  Here are thirteen (actually 14!) ideas, so take your pick:

  1. Buy or stream our music, and play it loudly. 🙂
  2. Like us on Facebook. Promoters/booking agents gauge a band’s popularity (perhaps unfairly) on how many “likes” a band has, so if you haven’t done so already, please give us a “Like” and encourage your pals to do so as well. That’s a big help! Go to facebook.com/HotBreakfastRocks.
  3. Follow us on Twitter: We’re @hotbreakfast. We’re also @hotbreakfast on Instagram
  4. Do you know someone who works in radio, for a newspaper or magazine, or writes for a music-related website or blog? We’d love to send them a CD for them to play and/or review. Can you put us in touch?
  5. Forward this newsletter to a friend, or ask them to sign up for the mailing list
  6. Consider hosting a house concert. We’ll come to your house and play for you and your pals…it’s a blast, and waaaay easier and less expensive than you think!  Email us here at awesomesauce@hot-breakfast.com and we’ll walk you through it.
  7. If you’re on ReverbNation, become a fan! If you’re on Soundcloud, follow us! If you’re on Bandcamp, follow us!
  8. Just say hi after a show. 🙂
  9. Come to a show, and bring a friend. Tell the bartender / manager / host(ess) that you’re there to see us — that helps us get invited back.
  10. If you already have a copy of 39 Summers, please consider giving it an honest online review at iTunes and/or Amazon.com.
  11. If you already have a copy of The Big Reveal, please consider giving it an honest online review at iTunes and/or Amazon.com
  12. If you already have a copy of The Holiday Shift, please consider giving it an honest online review at Bandcamp. (If you don’t have a copy, hey, it’s only $5.)
  13. Request Hot Breakfast! on your favorite radio station! We’ve sent our music to WSTWWXPNWMMRRadio 104.5, and lots of online stations, including Little Steven’s Underground GarageWOSRadio and Rocker’s Dive
  14. If you know of any venues where you think we’d be welcome, please let us know!  Email us here at awesomesauce@hot-breakfast.com with the name and location of the venue… and if you happen to know someone there, their name and contact info would be extra helpful.

AND… THE DISMOUNT
If you’ve gotten this far, thank you so much for reading. We admire your tenacity! 🙂

Thank you again, so sincerely, for being a Compadre of ROCK.  We are so grateful to you for your support, your kindness, and your enthusiastic fist-pumps. We really, really love you.

And if you’re cold and have no idea how to stay warm during this polar vortex, might I suggest you buy this electric blanket, because I am sitting under it right now and it is magical.    Right now it is three degrees out.  THREE.  Y’know what? If you’re only gonna give me three degrees, I don’t even want them. Just keep them.  That’s like ordering a side of corn and getting three niblets. Sorry. That’s not corn. It’s corns, and corns are not worth my time. I won’t even bother lifting my fork for three corns. And three degrees are the same way. Phooey.

Until next time,

Ji11 and Suburban Legend
(aka Jill and Matt)

Hot Breakfast! Winter Blasto Email of Happiness (and Brevity)

Greetings, Hot Breakfast Compadres of ROCK, old and new!

If this is your first Hot Breakfast! newsletter – hey there! You are now officially part of the HB!COR, which stands for the Hot Breakfast! Compadres of ROCK.  It’s an elite group, and we are thrilled to have you on board.  Not to worry – we don’t send newsletters out very often; we respect your time as well as your inbox. And if you need to jump off the list, scroll to the bottom of this email to learn how, all with no hard feelings.

Anyhoo, at Kevin Regan’s request, we’re going to keep this blasto email short… otherwise he’ll make fun of us again. 🙂

Onward!

UPCOMING HB! SHOWS:

Sat Jan 12, 8pm:  Milkboy Coffee.  Our first show at Milkboy!  We’re super-excited about this show– it’s a prestigious gig, and we’re still pinching ourselves that we landed it.  As of right now, it looks like we’re the only band on the bill for that night, which means you get a full night of delicious, face-melting acoustic punk dork rock Hot Breakfast action!  And since we’re the only band on the bill, it’s up to us to pack the place.  Folks, this is the show to see in January– and we need your attractive selves there! Let’s show Milkboy that Hot Breakfast brings a crowd!  (Milkboy Coffee is located at 2 East Lancaster Ave, Ardmore, PA 19003.  Easily accessible by train, and there’s easy parking, too.  BYOB!)  You can find deets at our website here, or on Facebook here.  Please spread the word!

Sat Jan 19, 7:30pm (doors open at 7!): Delaware Friends of Folk Coffee House, Wesley College, Dover, DE. (With special guest, Trini.)  The Delaware Friends of Folk invited us to headline their wonderful monthly coffee house event.  It’s true, we’re not a folk band… and the good news is they’re not expecting us to act like one, either.  We cannot wait to melt some faces in Dover!  But since we’ve got a nice, long set to fill, we’ll be playing some of our deeper cuts and perhaps even a few slower tunes as well.  There is really something special about playing for a listening room.  More deets at our website here, or onFacebook here.  See you there!

Thurs Feb 14, 7:30pm: Comedy Night! with Todd Chappelle & Shari Short. World Cafe Live at the Queen, Wilmington DE.  This show pretty much sold out when we did this show in October, so we’re doing it again, but this time on Valentine’s Day!  Let’s be honest: Everyone hates having to come up with something creative and neat for Valentine’s Day, but we’ve solved the problem for you.  Take your posse to see the fabulous comedienne Shari Short, our favoritest comedy musician Todd Chappelle, and everyone’s dorktastic pals Hot Breakfast! for a Valentine’s Day night show… we promise we won’t make it awkward if you’re there with someone you’re not involved with.   At World Café Live at the Queen, 5th and Market Streets, Wilmington, DE. The show really does start at 7:30.  When you buy your tickets, don’t forget to also make a dinner reservation or you may not get a place to sit.

Sat Feb 16, 8-11PM: Hot Breakfast! at the Arts Quest Center, Bethlehem, PA.  We’ll have the whole night to ourselves, so you get three hours of Hot Breakfast! goodness in the Arts Quest Center’s Creativity Commons. There is so much to do in Bethlehem, from shopping, dining, galleries, and just walking around on a crisp night… and we’re excited to be playing in this beautiful space with wonderful acoustics and an even more wonderful view.  Spend an evening in Bethlehem, and while you’re there, come drop in for a set or two and a snack!  (101 Founders Way  Bethlehem, PA 18015)  No cover charge!

Fri Feb 22, 6:30 – 9PM:  Hot Breakfast! takes over The Young Bean!  Clayton, DE.  You southern Delawareans can’t gripe any longer that we don’t come down your way.  The Young Bean has truly magnificent coffee, the friendliest service ever, and the kindest regulars in the state.  Come on down and say hello… it’s a great way to unwind after a long workweek, and a really pretty drive, too!  They have comfy chairs.  You like comfy chairs.  There’s no cover charge… but you may be enticed by a piece of BACON CAKE.  It’s amazing.

NEWS:

We’re still in the studio…
We’ve had a few more sessions with the way-cool Ray Gagliardino as mix the tracks we’ve recorded at Studio 825 We are super-stoked with the way it’s coming together… we’ve got a new recording of “Hole in Your Pants,” and full-band versions of “Defender,” “39 Summers” and “Act Surprised.”  We still have some more tunes to record at Knappshack Studios (er, Ji11’s house), which is where we recorded  our self-titled EP, but we’re already talking about an album release date and party this spring. Still no idea what we’re calling this thing, but we promise it won’t be food-related or self-titled.  We’ll keep ya posted. 🙂

A video?  Sweet!
The weekend before the New Year it snowed around these parts (I am pointing to the parts) (not THOSE parts, you slob!), and our pal / local filmmaker Kevin Regan wrangled us to shoot the winter scenes for a video for our song, “An Idiot for Christmas.”  It’s a three-season video, so we had to shoot the snowy scenes right away, because with this whole global warming thing who’d know if we’d get another chance?  It was really fun, and we’re looking forward to the weather warming up so we can get some Beach Blanket Bingo-style shots in the summer and the leafy autumnal shots, too.  We’ll need extras!  So again, we’ll keep you posted.   (You may recognize Kevin Regan as the guy who shot The Joe Trainor Trio‘s sweeeeet video for Keeping Up The Pace. You may also recognize Kevin Regan as the guy who made fun of us for having email blastos that are too long.)

GET INVOLVED!

People ask us all the time how they can help support the band.  Here are eleven (11!) ideas, so take your pick:

  1. Come to a show!  Bring a friend!  Tell the bartender / manager / host(ess) that you’re there to see us.
  2. Like us on Facebook.  Promoters/booking agents gauge a band’s popularity (perhaps unfairly) on how many “likes” a bad has, so it’s time for us to get on the FB horse.  So, if you haven’t done so already, please give us a “Like” and encourage your friends to do so as well.  That’s a big help!  (Please note that there are a few groups/organizations called “Hot Breakfast” on Facebook.  Make sure you’re liking the right one!  Look for our picture, or go to facebook.com/HotBreakfastRocks  don’t forget the “Rocks.”
  3. Follow us on Twitter: We’re @hotbreakfast .
  4. If you know of any venues where you think we’d be welcome, let us know!  Email us here at awesomesauce@hot-breakfast.com. The name and location of the venue is necessary of course, and if you happen to know someone there, their name and contact info would be extra helpful.
  5. Forward this to a friend, or ask them to sign up for the mailing list.
  6. Buy an EP, and play it loudly. 🙂
  7. Share our videos with your friends on YouTube, or record and upload your own when you see us live. We love that. 🙂
  8. When you see a sign in front of a hotel that says “HOT BREAKFAST,” yell “Hot Breakfast!” really loudly and throw your fist in the air.  Bonus points if you take a picture of yourself this and post it on the internetz.  If you post it using Instagram, mention us!  We’re @hotbreakfast on instagram.
  9. Consider hosting a house concert.  We’ll come to your house and play for you and your pals… it’s a blast, and easier and less expensive than you think!  Email us here at awesomesauce@hot-breakfast.com and we’ll walk you through it.
  10. Visit our website to stay up to date on our latest shows.  We’re constantly adding new gigs, and that’s always the best place to see when and where we’re playing. Our calendar is on the right-hand side of our page.
  11. Just say hi after a show. 🙂

AND… THE DISMOUNT.

If you’ve gotten this far, thank you so much for reading. We admire your tenacity! 🙂  If you’d like to be removed from this list, no hard feelings.  Just hit Reply and type Unsubscribe in either the subject or the first line of the body of your email, and our trained robots will handle the rest.

The HB! Newsletter: late summer / early autumn update!

This is a copy of our email newsblast that went out earlier tonight. Want to receive email updates like this one? Join our mailing list!

Greetings, HB!COR (Hot Breakfast! Compadres of ROCK) members, old and new!

We have a bunch of shows coming up soon, and we just realized that we’ve been so busy rocking that we forgot to tell you about them!  They’re mostly Saturdays, coincidentally… but we’ve got a Friday or two in there for good measure.

As per our usual, this here email newsletter is broken down into a few sections: HB! NewsUpcoming HB! ShowsGet Involved, and The Dismount.  Off we go!

HB! NEWS:

Album Update…
Our self-titled EP is here!  It was released with minimal fanfare at our show at The 1984 Barcade in Wilmington on July 7, 2012.  It features six songs, and a lovely mix of originals and covers, as well as some with full-band instrumentation.  Here’s the track listing: (1) It Only Takes Two to Rock  (2) Defender (3) Kiss Off (a Violent Femmes cover) (4) Hole in Your Pants  (5) You Were a Spider  (6) Major Tom (Coming Home) (a Peter Schilling cover).   We are really proud of this EP, and we’re selling it for a whole five dollars.  You can buy a physical CD from us at a show, or you can download it in either MP3 or FLAC format from our website.  You can also stream the songs as many times as you want for free from our website, too.  Just click here to be brought to our Music page.  (And I’ve gotta say… it feels pretty cool to have a contract with our names and Peter Schilling’s and Gordon Gano’s names on it as we secured the rights to record those cover tunes.)

And the media goes wild…
We’re famous!  World domination is imminent!  OK, maybe we’re exaggerating a bit, but just two days after our EP was released, our song “It Only Takes Two To Rock” was played on McG’s Backroom, a kickass weekly music podcast by everyone’s favorite punk spokesguy Dave McGurgan.  In early August, our tune “Hole In Your Pants” was played on WSTW’s Hometown Heroes!  And just last night we were interviewed for CommunityPub, a Delaware-based newspaper, regarding our upcoming headlining performance at the 2nd Annual Music Extravaganza which raises a ton of money for Multiple Sclerosis research… that article should be online (communitypub.com) Thursday night, and in print on Sunday.  Soon the paparazzi will be stalking us, and all the fashion magazines will feature 40 year olds with little to no hair, hair, and yellow eye shadow… you’ll see!

We inspired some serious nerding…
If you use Google Chrome and Google Calendar, we’ll just let you read this on your own.  Otherwise, move along.

A new addition to the family…
Henry (Matt’s beloved Gibson Songwriter Series guitar) served Matt very, very well for almost two decades, but poor Henry was having a hard time staying in tune.  So as of Monday, Matt is the proud owner of a new Martin Custom Performer Jumbo acoustic guitar.  (It’s jumbo in sound, not size.) Matt is still thinking of a name for the new guitar, though Jill is really pushing for “Riley.”  It sounds deep and amazing, it’s absolutely beautiful, and we can’t wait to bring our new sweet axe to our next gig.  Speaking of our next gig…

UPCOMING HB! SHOWS:

[] This Saturday, August 18 @ 8:00pm SHARP: Kennett Flash(102 Sycamore Alley, Kennett Square, Pennsylvania).  We are super-duper excited about this show!  Three “comedy music” acts are sharing this dorktastic bill– that’s us, as well as Dave & Brian, and our new BFF Todd Chappelle.  We admit we are the least comedy-centric of the three acts, but we’ve got a few new silly songs to try out on you. Grammarians will (hopefully) appreciate Matt’s new tune “The Garden of Bad Metaphors.”  Tickets can be purchased in advance for $12, or at the door for $15.  You can find out more details about the show/venue/tickets/backstory here.

[] Saturday, August 25th – ALL DAY!  2nd Annual Living with MS Music Extravaganza at Aqua Sol Restaurant (Summit North Marina, 3006 Summit Harbour Place, Bear, DE 19701) What better way to celebrate the end of summer with a mojito or two in the bright sunshine (under a table umbrella so you don’t fry) on the deck of Aqua Sol?  This is an all-day fund-raiser, raising money for MS research, and the proceeds go to the MS Society of Delaware. Jill’s sister has had MS for almost two decades now, so this cause is especially near and dear to our hearts.  The music begins at 12 noon and continues to midnight; however Hot Breakfast! takes the stage at 7:30PM, and the Joe Trainor Trio plays immediately after us.  We might even play a few tunes together if you ask real nice.  Tickets are $20 for one, or $35 for two– plus the venue will have food/drink specials, raffles, and other fun stuff.  And there’s also a very comfortable air conditioned inside bar where you can beat the heat if you’d like.  We also heard a rumor that we might be singing Happy Birthday to a certain HB!/JT3 fan… For tickets and info, go here.

[] Sunday, August 26th, 7:30pm: The Win Show! at Fennario Coffee in West Chester, PA (111 Church St., West Chester, PA).  We will admit we’re not entirely sure about the details of this gig.  The promoter said it’s a night of sketch comedy interspersed with music (that’s us!), and I think we may be opening the show, too.  We’re not really sure how long we’re going to play, what time we start, or much else about it, but hey, we always wanted to play in West Chester, so what the heck?  Come on out and be part of our adventure.  I’m not sure if there’s a cover or not.  It’s a coffee place, so if nothing else, bring money for coffee and barista tips. 🙂

[] Saturday, September 1st, 11:15am: The 2012 Arden Fair: Arden Shady Grove, 2126 The Highway, Arden, DE 19810.  This is a really exciting event for us– The Arden Fair is a blast and a half, and we’re so excited to finally be in town for this event!  We’ll play a 30-minute set starting at 11:15am sharp, and after we’re done we have to run off to a wedding to celebrate our wonderful friends (and play a song there, too). For more info, click this Facebook link (sorry, it’s all we have right now… we don’t like Facebook links either.)

[] Saturday, September 8th: PRIVATE GIG, Philadelphia, PA.  OK, normally we don’t list private gigs here, because they’re, ya know, private… but HOLYCRAP WE ARE OPENING FOR THE SPRING STANDARDS.  AS IN THE SPRING STANDARDS THAT WERE JUST ON CONAN A FEW WEEKS AGO.  Okay, that is all.  (All caps were necessary. Sorry.)

[] Friday, September 14th, 6:00 – 8:30PM: The Young Bean, 314 Main Street, Clayton, DE. For our posse in lower Delaware, we’ve got over two hours of music for you!  No cover charge, but please drink some coffee and tip the baristas.  This place is just perfect for us– it’s a comfy, cozy spot with amazing coffee, live music and a thing on their menu called BACON CAKE.  (Fark the music, just show up for the bacon cake, yo.)

[] Saturday, September 29th, 7:00pm: Rod Kim’s Very Public Birthday Bash as part of the Wilmington Fringe Festival, at World Cafe Live at the Queen (5th and Market Street, Wilmington, DE).  Rod Kim is a popular guy. His recent super-cute pop CD, “To Love and Be Loved” was nominated for a Grammy.  He and his musical collaborator pal Vince Cirino are celebrating their birthdays with a musical all-star bash at World Cafe Live at the Queen, and we are thrilled that he asked us to play along with a bunch of other great local bands (Mean Lady, Evangelina Guajardo, etc, etc).  It’s general admission seating/standing and a $5 cover at the door.  I don’t know if you can be guaranteed a table, but it’s worth trying by calling the venue or making a dinner reservation at World Cafe Live at the Queen using OpenTable.com

[] Friday, October 5th, 8:00PM: Joe Trainor Trio’s CD Release Party at World Cafe Live at the Queen! (5th and Market Street, Wilmington, DE).  We are so, so, so excited to be not only opening for the Joe Trainor Trio for  the official release of their long-awaited CD Twelve Stories, but we’ll also be joining them on stage for a bunch of numbers, too!  We’ll take the stage right at 8pm.  Geez, for all the World Cafe Live gigs we have this fall, I think they’re going to name a table after us. 🙂  We’re not complaining!

There are more dates to come!  Stay tuned!

GET INVOLVED!

People ask us all the time how they can help support the band.  Here are eleven (11!) ideas, so take your pick:

  1. Sign the mailing list to stay up to date.
  2. Like us on Facebook.  (Honestly, we’re not big fans of Facebook, so we haven’t really been pushing our FB page.  However, promoters/booking agents gauge a band’s popularity (perhaps unfairly) on how many “likes” a bad has, so it’s time for us to get on the FB horse.  So, if you haven’t done so already, please give us a “Like” and encourage your friends to do so as well.  That’s a big help!  (Please note that there are a few groups/organizations called “Hot Breakfast” on Facebook.  Make sure you’re liking the right one!  Look for our picture, or go to facebook.com/HotBreakfastRocks  don’t forget the “Rocks.”)
  3. Follow us on Twitter: We’re @hotbreakfast .
  4. If you know of any venues where you think we’d be welcome, let us know!  Email us here at awesomesauce@hot-breakfast.com. The name and location of the venue is necessaryof course, and if you happen to know someone there, their name and contact info would be extra helpful.
  5. Come to a show!  Bring a friend!  Tell the bartender / manager / host(ess) that you’re there to see us.
You can also do this when eating heated breakfast foods.  Bonus points if you take a picture of yourself this and post it on the internetz.  If you post it using Instagram, mention us!  We’re @hotbreakfast on instagram.
  9. Consider hosting a house concert.  We’ll come to your house and play for you and your pals… it’s a blast, and easier than you think!
