OK, so we (The Rock Orchestra) said that our most recent performance of our tribute to The Who in Milton was gonna be our last one. But our bass player, Tony, was terribly sick and couldn’t make the show. The performance was completely sold out and we couldn’t possibly get in touch with all of the ticket holders to postpone the show, so we had to come up with a Plan B and FAST. Enter our amazing friend Joe Testa (who you might’ve caught playing the double-necked guitar when TRO played Genesis’ The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway), who stepped in at the last second playing off of handwritten charts that Matt wrote out from 2pm until about 7:30pm for all 25 songs. Joe KILLED it! It was an absolutely amazing night, and a testament to a band really pulling together.
But… despite the excitement, Tony didn’t get a chance to play that final show, and we didn’t feel right putting that show to bed without Tony. So we’re doing a final-final show on November 21st at The Rockford Tavern in Wilmington, DE.
The show starts right at 8pm.
Here’s the write-up we use for this show:
While not an official Hot Breakfast! gig, we have been recruited to provide tons of backing vocals, horns, and percussion to all your favorite songs by The Who, with a few deep cuts in there, too. The band lineup features an all-star core band of Joe Trainor (vocals), Scott Lawing (guitar), Kurt Houff (guitar), Brian O’Sullivan (keyboards), Tony Cappella (bass) and Matt Urban (drums), as well as Matt and Jill providing tons of additional vocals along with Christine McAllister.
There’s limited space available for this event (only 100 tickets), and admission is $15 cash at the door. Also that night they’ll be presenting a special TRO “My Generation” IPA courtesy of Twin Lakes Brewery!
We love playing this music, and we hope you’ll come enjoy the night with us!
